Don't be scared to do something different

Photo by Eugene Tan via aquabumps.com

So many people dream about quitting their day-job and throwing themselves into doing the work that they really want to do.

We ask ourselves: What would it take to make that move? Would I be brave enough to do it? Would I be capable of making it a success and do I have all the necessary skills to make it work? Will I be judged by others who might think that I'm taking a risk with something that might never work? What if this choice never works out?

All of these question are valid and something we should try and honestly answer. But key questions that I believe must be answered with absolute honesty are: Am I truly and utterly passionate about what I believe I want to do? Does this work really set my belly on fire? Does the idea of doing this work make me want to leap out of bed each morning and make me forget that time even exists while I'm doing the work? Can I see myself doing this for the rest of my life?

Eugene Tan is someone who answered Yes to all these questions and made that ultimate move so many of us dream about. Eugene Tan is someone just like you and me. But he asked the right questions and he answered them with honesty.

Maybe it's time we all do the same :)

Thank you so much for sharing this, I love it! And funny thing... without remembering the title of your post, as I watched the video I jotted down the words that struck me the most: "Don't be scared to do something different." I guess great minds think alike. : )

Warm wishes,
Stephanie
