Making things

Work by Jazmin Berakha
I don't know if it's cold winter nights spent huddled by the fireplace or if this urge to make things never really stays quiet for that long, but when I saw this beautiful embroidery work by Jazmin Berakha it made me want to reach out for my stash of crafty tools and start stitching away just like her.
I also thought about how much fun it would be to draw on something I can hold in my hand first thing in the morning. I love looking at drawings and paintings hanging on my wall, but wouldn't it be great to hold that drawing in your hand every day and let it greet you first thing in the morning while you're drinking your first cup of coffee? I love what Esther is doing, the way she's giving a new life to those old, unwanted things that have so much more life to them:

And wouldn't it be nice to make something like this?
